The Best Comedy Podcasts of 2021
Comedy podcasts are an amazing thing for both the comedians involved as well as the listeners on the other side! The podcast space turned the last year from what could have been a disastrous time for folks depending on stand-up comedy, into a huge opportunity for entertainment. Obviously, podcasts were relevant prior to the pandemic, but a lot of incredible comedy podcasts came to fame in these last few month, so credit where credit is do. And just to note, this list is NOT only for stand-up comedian podcasts. Not at all. I just wanted to note that aspect of things, as a lot of great podcasters of today come from the world of stand-up.
The Comedy Podcast Master List
The following comedy podcast recommendation list has been built with data, opinions, votes, reviews, Twitter consensus, Reddit stances, etc. Basically, it’s based on research from all over the internet, not just the guy writing it all up. These comedy podcasts are a large mix of great things. Some of them are popular, some of them are not. Many of them are sporatic, many of them are deliberate. A few of them are crude, a few of them are clean. The unity amongst these incredible shows, is the fact that they are all designed to make you laugh. And according to the internet, and our team, they are best of the best comedy podcasts to listen to in 2021. Let’s get to the fun.
The List: The Best Comedy Podcasts of 2021
20. Chris Distefano Presents: Chrissy Chaos
Chrissy chaos is a spinoff of the long-running, manic podcast called History Hyenas. Chrissy Chaos is Chris Distefano’s solo journey, recorded from his own living room. Chris lets loose and goes off on his unfiltered, offbeat perspective on the world, life and stories from his life. Chrissy Chaos is an accurate title for this show, to say the least. Definitely a must-listen!
19. A Comedy Advice Podcast
Join in every week to hear self-proclaimed guru Stephen Settanni provide self-help for the helpless. Stephen matches the energy of his guest in every situation with ease. He creates a hilarious, compelling and engaging environment which brings the show to life. His show is an intimate, hilarious experience that everyone should be tuning in for every week.
18. Tuesdays With Stories
Tuesdays with Stories- a fun weekly pod hosted by NYC comedians Joe List and Mark Normand. Luckily, Joe and Mark are funny (thank God) and have an endless amount of funny stories. They meet every week to spin a few hilarious yarns, sometimes with comedian friends. Give it a listen and be their friend too.
17. Long Days With Yannis Pappas
Yannis Pappis is the other half of long-loved podcats History Hyenas. This is his spinoff into the solo podcasting world. As it turns out, Yannis really created a wonderful experience in Yannis Long Days. The comedian is a well-informed, character-heavy mad-man and a long-string of uncut tangents suits him well. It’s an incredibly engagin podcast filled with laughs and interesting information from the vast mind of Yannis Pappas.
16. Rick and Esther Have a Time
Rick Glassman, as many know, is a podcasting legend. His ability to work the medium is awe-inspiring. Rick and Esther Have a Time is his side podcast project with co-host Esther Povitsky. The dynamic between these two “friends” is really difficult to describe in simple words. It’s hectic, cruel, confusing and especially hilarious. These two complement each other in such interesting, unexpected ways. The show doesn’t come out on a super regular occasion, but it’s an absolute must-listen when it does.
15. Bloodbath
Speaking of Esther Povistky, this is another show from her amazing mind. Bloodbath is an unconventional comedy podcast hosted by Esther Povtsky, Annie Lederman, and Khalyla Kuhn. These three are a pleasure to listen to. They’re a very entertaining group, all quite different from each other, yet similar in their amazing vulgarity. The show goes off the rails at times, in all the best ways you can imagine. The show is new but it’s quickly growing a style and unique sense of humor that everyone needs to experience.
14. Riffin With Griffin

13. The Bill Bert Podcast
Bill Burr and Bert Kreischer prattle about inflated stats, vengeance, and showboating. These two contrasting comedians have a very unique voice together. They’re real friends and seasoned comedians, and it really does show.
12. Uncle Joey’s Joint With Joey Diaz

11. If I Were You With Jake And Amir
Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld offer advice in areas they’re qualified to talk about. Also in areas they’re not qualified to talk about. These two comedians have one of the most unusual, yet immediately awe-inspiring senses of humor ever. They play off each other masterfully and every episode is filled with laughs.
10. TigerBelly
A no-holds-barred arena for half truths, social no-nos, and animal behavior-featuring comedian Bobby Lee and his girlfriend Khalyla. Bobby Lee is an American treasure. He’s an unpredictable wildcard of a human, constantly out-doing himself with comedy. TigerBelly is an amazing show.
9. This Past Weekend With Theo Von
A podcast focused on what happened this past weekend. And sometimes what happened on other days. That’s really just the starting point. The beauty of this show is the absurd and amazing mind of Theo Von. Theo’s perspective on the world is unmatched. He has a stylized, innocent-yet-formatted outlook and everything he says tends to be incredible. He’s a presence everyone needs to experience.
8. Smartless
“SmartLess” with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, & Will Arnett is a podcast that connects and unites people from all walks of life to learn about shared experiences through thoughtful dialogue and organic hilarity. A nice surprise: in each episode of SmartLess, one of the hosts reveals his mystery guest to the other two. What ensues is a genuinely improvised and authentic conversation filled with laughter and newfound knowledge to feed the SmartLess mind.
7. Better Off Better
Well, here’s our shameless (or shameful?) plug. Better Off Better is a Cinemonic Original Podcast. It recently made the list of FeedSpot’s top podcasts of 2020 though! So there’s some credentials, I swear! Better Off Better is a comedic, cut-throat journey to self-betterment. Every week is a new “self-improvement” challenge in attempt to improve hosts Chris K. Daniels, Jenny Whipple and Samuel Caswell as people. It gets crazy, competetive, hilarious and even valuable from time to time. We’re incredibly proud of our show, and it’s been going insanely well in our first official year. So if you want to check out a new comedy podcast in 2021, go try Better Off Better!
6. History Hyenas
Now, this one’s a bit of a heartbreaking entry on our list. The History Hyenas ended officially in early 2021, in pure surprising fashion. But fortunately for us, they left the world with A LOT of golden content. The Hyenas Chris Distefano and Yannis Pappas are chaotic, non-pc maniacs with an incredibly wild sense of humor. The way they play with running jokes and overall comedic style is unmatched. The high energy, craziness of History Hyenas will be very missed in the world of comedy podcasts.
5. Your Moms House
I think everyone strives to have a relationship like Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky. These two are the worlds most hilarious and most emotionally-twisted parents, in all the best ways. The show is long, and every second is a blast. If you like strange internet videos from the dark corners of the web, then you’ll love the YMH podcast.
4. Bad Friends
The Bad Friends podcast is the combination of Fire and Ice. Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino are friends, of course, but in the most toxic ways you can possibly imagine. They consistently piss each other off, because they know how to. The dynamic is so incredibly funny in all situations, and the show just works so well because these two professional comedians are perfect for each other.
3. Take Your Shoes Off With Rick Glassman
Rick Glassman is an artist. His podcast, Take Your Shoes Off is a constantly-surprising, incredibly immersive experience. It’s oftentimes: personal, strange, surreal, and of course, hilarious. Glassman has the style of a modern-day Andy Kaufman, and it takes his podcast to the next level. It’s one of the most creative, most interesting comedy podcasts to ever exist, I promise you that.
2. The Tim Dillon Show
Tim Dillon is a comedian and tour guide. He’s very excited to give you a tour of the end of the world. Each week he brings us on a journey. His perspective is so unique, brutal, hilarious, and unfiltered. This show is not for the weak of heart. But it is certainly for comedy lovers. Tim Dillon is an amazing gift to the world, and this podcast showcases that perfectly.
1. Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend
Conan O’Brien is no stranger to entertainment, obviously. But who would’ve expected him to thrive so strongly in a format so similar, yet so different from his main landscape? Well, he has certainly thrived. Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend is one of the most hilarious podcasts out there. Conan has such impressive wit. He’s quick, he’s hysterical, he’s sincere, he’s intelligent. It makes for a consistently engaging podcast, no matter who the guest is. His natural chemistry and ability to connect and make anyone laugh turns this show into a consistent joy. It was not an easy decision, but Conan’s beautiful show has officially become our #1 slot for the best comedy podcasts of 2021.
